For those of you that read Steve Pavlina’s blog, you will have seen that he did a one month trial of a very restrictive (in my opinion) diet. A short while before Steve began his “30 day” food trial I had begun a food trial of my own, attempting to determine how different foods affect me.

Steve stuck his out for thirty days. I abandoned mine.

Want to know why? Well, I rapidly came to the conclusion that after my second post there wasn’t a lot left to say, at least that would be of use to the general pubic. I discovered that sugary products give me a buzz and a productivity boost for a bit, and a sugar crash shortly followed. Except I already knew this. I found artifical & preprocessed fatty foods made me feel bloated and sluggish. Except I already knew this.

What I am trying to say is that apart from the common health benefits and food guidlines we are all aware of, I did not discover anything of any real interest as I feel we all differ in how we benefit or lose out with different food groups. So, apart from basic healthy eating, if you’re looking for great advice that you havn’t heard before then you will be dissapointed.

I discovered that I thrive when I have foods high in zinc, garlic, and b vitamins. This may or may not apply to you, so my recommendation regarding diet and health is to follow well known sensible principles and if you feel the need, go on your own journey of discovery – what I have learnt really only applies to me.
