Use your body to feel good !
Sounds a little steamy doesn’t it ! In reality you can use your body anytime, anywhere to help change your mood. We all have days when we feel down, or just not at our best. Sometimes, myself included, I have gone into a situation knowing that my mood wasn’t right. In these situations you often know something will not go well. And almost every time it doesn’t. It’s not because your clairvoyant, its because you are aware that, on some level, your moods will be reflected back onto yourself.
For instance, if you go into a meeting with your bank manager for a loan, then don’t be surprised if the loan you thought you would never get, you don’t. Our expectations are often met through the way people react to us and a combination of signals that broadcast our mental state help precondition the response we are given.
That’s why some people just seem lucky. Their mental state is continually on the lookout for opportunities, and people respond positivly to their warm, life affirming attitudes. Others, who walk around hunched, with their head hung low do not inspire us with confidence. Instead, their submissive stance fills us with repulsion and creates preconceptions, that even if wrong, will colour the way we see that person.
So, if you want to improve the way you feel about yourself, and the way others see you – always be aware of the way you hold your body. When you need a confidence boost, think about a time when you were confident. Make your body hold the same stance as it did then, and as if by magic, those old feelings will start to return !
